Match Report - 07 Feb 2010, HARVESTERS FOOTBALL CLUB GIRLS U17 drew with Letchworth Garden City Eagles
Yet another tantilizing close tie between us and our opposition Letchworth, a classic tale of two halves. In the first half, goalkeeper Jordan had nothing to do, as any Letchworth adventure into our half was met with some fine work from our back quartet. Letchworth spent most of the 40 minutes pinned back in their own half, but chance after chance did not find the net.
Soon after the start of the second half, we had our break through with a goal from our debutante Freya, great start to her time here at Harvesters. We kept up the pressure feeling there was more to come, but Letchworth had other ideas. A good run on the break resulted in the game being levelled. The tide then changed and after another 5 minutes they caught out our usually solid defence and scored again with only 10 minutes remaining. As ever, our girls raised their game yet again and put Letchworth under pressure with some fluent football. Finally with a minute to go, out top scorer Shivani beat two players to break through and level the game. Overall a fair result.
