Match Report - 17 Jan 2010, HARVESTERS FOOTBALL CLUB GIRLS U17 lost to Fairlands Youth
This was the first match of the year and the first match in 5 weeks due to all the bad weather. Being a County Cup semi-final, it was always going to be a tough match. Harvesters started well, we had chances in the first half as did Fairlands, but at half time we were 0-0. The second half both teams worked just as hard. Harvesters had a break at 50 minutes with a goal from Shiv. With 30 minutes to go, it felt like a lifetime. Fairlands pulled back and in the 70th minute they scored taking it to 1-1. Both teams were getting ready for extra time, then with just 10 seconds of time left, Fairlands had a break and took the lead. Harvesters knew they were beaten with just 10 seconds to play it was a mountain to high. This was the first time Fairlands had beaten Harevsters and it was a hard one to swollow as the girls were so close to that final. I am sure at the next meeting, Harvesters will do their best to make amends. Player of the match for a solid performance was Jenna in goal, supporters trophy went to Sophie.
